Delhi Govt. Forms Committee to Deploy Effective Jammer Tech in Jails

A committee has been established by the Delhi government to examine jammer technologies from across the world that can block mobile signals in jails.

The committee, chaired by DG (Prisons), includes experts from IIT Madras, IISC Bangalore, DRDO, C-DAT, and IB and SPG officers. The committee will suggest the most appropriate jammer technology, including 5G network, for implementation in Delhi's jails to tighten prison security and eliminate mobile phone use completely.

The committee will also examine existing mobile networks and suggest technical guidelines for installing BTS towers around jails.
